An engineering proposal is a document that solicits outside business, submitted to outside organizations. The content needed to create the proposal are:
- Summary: Covers the major elements of the proposal in 1-2 sentences
- Introduction: Needed to help readers understand the context, scope, and organization of the proposal
- Problem: Works as the exigence of the situation by explaining the conflict of the situation
- Objectives: Goal you are trying to accomplish in the proposal
- Solution: Explanation of what you want to do with the project
- Methods: The technical description of the product/project being presented
- Resources: A Few paragraphs on your and your team’s credentials
- Management: Provides specifics on how much the project will cost.
- Appendixes: Provides the task schedule, bar charts, network diagram, evaluation technique, etc.
