Exigence

I remember learning about exigence in my freshmen composition class but I was never sure about what the explanation was. However, in this class, the definition has become more clear as to what’s expected when talking about the exigence. I’ve learned that exigence is an issue or situation that leads to demands for rhetoric speech or writing. This was strongly represented through my lab report assignment.

The lab report was the experiment conducted to test if the Douglas Fir wood would be a possible candidate to replace mild steel for three-story structures.  As shown in figure 1, the reflection paper shares that the exigence of the experiment is that the production of steel produces carbon emissions that can harm the air in New York. This prompted me to find a substitute for steel when building smaller-scale structures if possible.
